PM: Taxes must make energy companies use Russian technologies
GORKI, Moscow Region, Dec 22 (PRIME) -- The Russian government must stimulate energy companies to use Russian technologies by means of taxes and financial instruments, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said at a meeting on energy strategy 2035 on Thursday.
Medvedev said that the dependence of the energy industry on foreign equipment and technologies remains high in many areas.
“This situation has to be changed, we need to support our producers who are ready to produce services or equipment that are competitive by the price and quality. We must stimulate energy companies to use predominantly Russian products and services through taxes and financial instruments,” he said.
Medvedev also said that oil and gas producers must be given clear information on tax policies.
“Our energy companies, foreign consumers must be given clear guidelines: what taxation, the tariff, the price policy will be to make our energy market more transparent, competitive and attractive for investments,” Medvedev said.
